Empowering the Future through Education

The Education Sub-Committee of The Billawar Association, Mumbai continued its commitment to nurturing and empowering the next generation through its Student Adoption and Merit Awards Programme, held at Narayan Guru Sabhagriha, Billawa Bhawan. The programme recognised and supported deserving students and celebrated young achievers who have excelled in academics, higher education and professional fields.

Distinguished Guests
The function was presided over by Shri Harish G. Amin, President, The Billawar Association, Mumbai. The Guests of Honour were Shri Mundkur Rathnakar Shetty, Chairman, S. M. Shetty College, Powai and CMD, Shreenath Finance Ltd., and Dr. Arjun Mahadeo Murudkar, former Vice-Chancellor of JJT University, Rajasthan and Shri Venkateshwara University, Uttar Pradesh, and former Registrar, University of Mumbai.

Shri Mundkur Rathnakar Shetty shared his experience in the field of education and assured the Association of his assistance in its plans for setting up a school. Dr. Arjun Murudkar spoke about the wider benefits of education to society and encouraged the Association to pursue its educational ambitions. Mr. Yash Anchan, Director, Safe Sea USA, who attended as Special Guest, delivered an inspiring message to the young scholars, emphasising focus, discipline and making full use of one’s potential.

Guidance for Young Students
At the beginning of the programme, Shri Mithesh Kumar Moodukonage, Student Mentor & Education Activist, conducted an informative and interactive session. He provided practical guidance on competitive examinations and educational and career opportunities available to young people today.

Recognising Our Young Achievers
A highlight of the evening was the recognition of students who had successfully completed professional courses during the year. Ananya J. Poojary, Anusha D. Poojary, Tejas R. Salian, Navya Ganesh Poojary, Srijan Keshav Poojary and Hrishita Raghu Poojary were among the young achievers honoured during the programme.

Students selected under Endowment Funds established by philanthropists were also felicitated for outstanding performance in SSC and HSC examinations. The programme continued with the presentation of Pratibha Puraskar, Merit Certificates and financial assistance to eligible and meritorious students, helping them pursue their educational aspirations.

Support to Guru Narayan School
The Association felicitated Shri Dayanand Kotian of Reliance Foundation for his valuable role in facilitating CSR sponsorship of a school bus for Guru Narayan School at Padubelle. While accepting the honour, Shri Kotian spoke about Reliance Foundation’s support for deserving causes, particularly education, and expressed his willingness to continue assisting the Association wherever possible.

A Continuing Commitment to Education
The Billawar Association, Mumbai has been adopting and financially supporting hundreds of students every year. Over the years, thousands of students have been assisted in completing higher education and technical and professional courses, helping improve not only their own futures but also those of their families.

Addressing the young audience, President Shri Harish G. Amin encouraged students who succeed in their careers to remain connected with the community and contribute towards strengthening the Student Adoption and Merit programme in the years ahead. He also appealed to members and well-wishers to actively support the educational institution being planned by the Association.

Inspired by Brahmashri Narayan Guru’s message of “Education for All,” The Billawar Association, Mumbai remains committed to ensuring that deserving students are encouraged to pursue their education and realise their dreams.
